Obama is Convinced Winner of Clean Energy Race will Lead the Global Economy

nuclearThe problem with that statement is that Clean Energy Countries with over 50% of their power coming from renewables are not leading the world economy, even nuclear power which is the medium term answer for America does not seem to boost ones ranking, so how can the President be convinced that Clean Energy Development will lead the new global economy? Ironically the countries who rely heavily on coal for electrical generation are the top 2 Economies in the world today, tres bizarre, non? Here are some world examples for Obama to consider before he takes his next teleprompter fueled flight of fantasy.

When Obama says Clean Energy he is talking about CO2 free energy, that nasty little molecule that all life on earth depends on and is a byproduct of every natural creation of energy and changes in the state of matter on the planet. You know that “Dirty” colorless and odorless trace gas that we are somehow tipping out of balance by simply existing on the planet.

A Little Research Goes a Long Way in a Spin Filled World

Lets take a look at some Countries around the World that have had Clean Energy (Renewable and CO2 Free Sources of Power) for Decades. I am going to use Bio-Fuels and Hydro Electrical Generation for examples.

hydro Norway – 98% Hydro – Economic Ranking 24th
Brazil – 85% Hydro, Bio Fuels 60% – Economic Ranking  8th
Canada – 61% Hydro Energy – Economic Ranking 11th

Now lets look at Nuclear Power, the one glaring example is of course France.

France – 80% Nuclear Energy – Economic Ranking  5th

Moving on, lets take a look at a Country that has embraced the President’s view that Clean Energy is the best solution for economic prosperity, they have moved heavily into wind and solar over the last decade.

Spain – 19.9% Wind and Solar – Economic Ranking 10th

I am not seeing a huge amount of Economic Leadership and “Winning” here amongst the countries with the biggest head starts in this race. Someone should explain the rules and the ways we are going to judge who really is the winner, perhaps it is a race to the bottom?
