Teach the children quietly for someday sons and daughters will rise up and fight while we stood still…

The lyrics in the title of this post are from a song called Silent Running by Mike and the Mechanics and I think it is an important message to conservatives and all democracy and freedom loving people who believe in the strength of capitalism and it’s opportunities that allow one to shape their own destiny. I had not thought of this song for over a decade and all the words popped into my head when I read the following poll results from Gallup.

I wonder what the response would be if I asked those of the Greatest Generation who liberated the world from the spectre of fascist socialism in World War II and who are still amongst us this question what the results would be? Even those Baby Boomers born during the Early Years of the Cold War would not poll this way, so who the heck are this 36% of Americans? They are the manufactured product of a liberal dominated and corrupted higher education system, one that the current US Administration wants to make sure even more Americans attend in order to increase these numbers. I also believe in education reform, but not until we can weed out the bias in the education system and teach rather than recruit and indoctrinate.

Liberal Institutional Education is the key to the Democrats future because the simple fact that as people age and get greater responsibilities and a family most (not all)  of them adopt a more conservative stance especially fiscally but they also adopt the habit of not voting, as if by that simple act of defiance they can keep Government at bay in their lives. So in order to hold power the liberal system must overproduce graduates with arts degrees with media relations and poli-sci majors who are politically active and vote, and they are adding to their ranks more and more each year. That is all that is keeping the Democrats on the left a viable party and why the country is always split pretty much down the middle as far a political leanings go.

The way that socialism is turned back is by teaching our children the history of socialism, democracy and the freedoms we have and what it took to get them. We need to strengthen the core of the family that has been rotted away by Government (both sides) intrusions into our homes and classrooms and the rampant political correctness that destroys any sense of patriotism and pride left in the youth of America by the time they are in their mid teens. Children are taught to turn to the state when they are “unsatisfied” with their life or they make the same mistakes the youth have been making since the dawn of time, they are told they do not have any personal responsibility for their situation because they are victims and as such they warrant the protective arm of Government around them, the path to socialism is a warm hug and reassurance that it is not your responsibility.

The education system combined with the protective welfare state is creating a shift in the thinking of Americans and then comes a poll like this  and surprise! I Mean who could have thought that over a third of Americans have a positive view of socialism in 2010?

So conservatives and moderates who still love democracy and freedom we need to start teaching our children the truth and providing them with a strong grounding so that they can resist what they are being told by every other authority figure that they interact with on a daily basis; and you better start now before we are in the minority in the next poll.
